meat pies

Another class kiwi food are their meat pies.  They're sold in nearly every café and dairy and are basically their version of what we would call a chicken pot pie.  They are usually full of ground beef which they call mince here.  So their mince pie is different than those in the states.  For Bret's birthday, to make it as NZ as possible, I surprised him with a steak pie from an award-winning pie shop!
