Victoria bush fires
I'm sure you've heard by now, of the historical bush fires raging in Australia. It is the worst natural disaster in Australia's history. Abnormally high temperatures have made it extremely difficult for firefighters to put out the blaze (some of which is suspected to have been lit by arsonists). The news coverage in New Zealand is very informative of everything happening over there, and it's truly depressing to hear of the huge amount of casualties, many occurring as residents attempt to outrun the fires in their cars. It is devastating the amount of damage that has resulted. We are safe here in New Zealand, however, residents on the west coast (we're on the east) are experience orange-colored clouds, a result from the smoky haze drifting over the Tasman Sea. We are all praying for a quick end to the deadly fires in Australia.
