passionfruit

Being on an island in the south Pacific has its advantages.  Every time I am at the grocery store, I come across new and exotic fruits that I have never seen before.  This time around I tried passionfruit.  When I saw the fruit, I thought it looked similar to a wrinkly, oversized date.  I had no idea that this is what a passionfruit looks like:

When they're good and wrinkly, they're ready to eat.  I sliced the fruit open and scooped out the seedy (crunchy) fruit and dug in.
